 Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub is an American comedian, actor, and activist. She was born in the Soviet Union to Jewish parents and started her career as an actress as a young person soon after her move to the United States. She came to prominence for her appearances on AT&T commercials on television as salesperson Lily Adams from 2013 to 2016 and since the year 2020. In addition to her commercial appearances, she was a series regular on the Yahoo! Screen science-fiction comedy Other Space (2015). She also played regularly featured in the NBC drama This Is Us 2016-2017. Vayntrub is also the voice of Squirrel Girl on the Marvel Rising franchise since 2018 after being selected to play the character in the unaired TV pilot for New Warriors. Vayntrub was Jewish, born in Tashkent, Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic. Her parents, who were both two years old, immigrated to America to escape antisemitism. They were settled in West Hollywood. Because of financial struggles within her family, she started acting in Mattel Barbie commercials when she was just five years old. Vayntrub attended Beverly Hills High School briefly however she quit during her second year. She later obtained an GED and earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. With the Upright Citizens Brigade she studied Improv comedy.
